(1) (∂H/∂P)_T of methane was measured from isothermal expansion experiments at temperatures between 150°and 450°K. (2) The second virial coefficients of methane at various temperatures were obtained from the above amount of (∂H/∂P)_T. (3) Van der Waals energy between methane molecules was determined from the second virial coefficients, the lattice energy, lattice constant and compressibility were calculated.
