Theoretical Study on Discretely Weighted Comical Tansducers

Conical transducers with weighted velocity distribution have been proposed by us for generating Bessel-type quasi-nondiffracting beams. In this paper discretely weighted structures are presented that will facilitate the fabrication of weighted conical transducers, and their sound fields are examined theoretically. It is shown that divided-conical transducers composed of a segmented cone with discrete weighting can create sound fields almost the same as those for the continuously weighted complete conical transducers.
