An electrochromic display device with a liquid electrolyte of 1 mol/l LiClO_4 in propylene carbonate is evaluated for its colorimetric characteristics. The colorimetric characteristics are shown by the lightness index, chromatic index, color difference vs the injected charge amount and by the lightness index vs the chromaticness index. The characteristic of the lightness index vs the chromaticness indexis independent of the thickness sof tungsten oxide films and its characteristic-curve can be showed by a cubic equation for the reflection- and transmission-types.
