An approximate inversion procedure is presented for deriving the concentration distribution from TDR waveforms refldected from a diffuse interface between two miscible layers. The procedure neglects dielectric dispersion, and calculates numerically the Fourier transform of the so-called tangent function t_<BB>, which can be obtained approximately from the reflection coefficient. The procedure is exact when the interface is clear cut. A tetrahydrofuran/water system was treated successfully by this inversion procedure.
