Electrical conduction of polyethylene telephthalate films was measured at temperatures above the glass transition temperature under the applied fields of 6×10^2-5×10^5 V/cm. A nearly steady current was observed for some time after the disappearance of the current due to the orientation of dipoles. The relation between this steady current and the applied field, and also that between the current and temperature were obtained. The results were explained by taking the charge carriers to be electrons which diffused from the cathode over the Schottky barrier into the film. If the voltage across the film was kept for a long time, a large decrease in the current occurred indicating the accumulation of the space charge.
