Three new bi-2-(2-phenylethyl)chromones, tentatively named AH_<12>, AH_<13>and AH_<14>, were isolated from agalwood "Jinko" along with AH_<10>, AH_<11> and AH_<15>. The structures of AH_<12> and AH_<13> were elucidated as (5S, 6R, 7R, 8S)-2-(2-phenyletyl)-5,6,7-trihydroxy-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-8-[2-(2-phenylethyl)-7-methoxychromonyl-6-oxy]chromone and its de-7-methoxylate, respectively. AH_<14> was concluded to be (5S, 6S, 7S, 8R)-2-(2-phenylethyl)-6,7,8-trihydroxy-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-5-[2-(2-phenylethyl)chromonyl-6-oxy]chromone. Elucidation of 5,6' and 8,6'-ether bonding in bi-2-(2-phenylethyl)chromones was done by detailed analyses of the proton and carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance (^1H and ^<13>C-NMR) spectra, and measuring nuclear Overhauser effect (NOE) difference values.
