In Morioka, northern Japan, the halictine bee Lasioglossum (Evylaeus) sakagamii EBMER is solitary and univoltine with brood rearing from early June to early August. The brood cells are connected to the main burrow by short and narrower laterals. The absence of social life cycle in this species even in the southern part of its distributional range is likely from its systematic position and nest pattern. Taxonomic and chorologic notes on the quadrinotatulum subgroup, to which L. sakagamii belongs, are summarized.
