Main ethological features in the cell provisioning and oviposition process (POP) of Tetragonisca angustula are as follows : 1-caste interactions are more agonistic than ritualized ; remarkable by the absence of buccal contacts ; 2-POP is exclusively batched ; 3-brood cells are successively constructed ; 4-in the preprovisioning phase workers strongly dart to the queen ; 5-the dartings clearly elicit agitation of the queen that, in turn, generates agitation in the behavior of the nurse workers ; 6-cell provisioning is synchronous ; 7-worker-born eggs laid at the inner rim of provisioned cells are eaten almost exclusively by the queen, etc. The behavioral diagnosis of T. angustula is presented together with considerations on its relationships to other taxa.
