概要

When squid rhodopsin was irradiated with yellow light in alkaline condition, it was found to be regenerated in the dark from an intermediate. This fact implies that the photoregeneration process involves not only the isomerization of chromophore, but also the thermal reaction, as assumed to be the conformation change of protein part to fit into 11-cis configuration of retinal.
