Metal nanostructure of organic/metal interface showing photocurrent multiplication phenomenon more than 10^5 fold was investigated. Au films deposited on organic films were revealed to be a gathering of nanoparticles and the multiplication rate can be tuned by the particle size. Spatial gaps formed between Au sphere and organic surface, which provide the hole accumulation sites (structural trap), was concluded to be indispensable for the photocurrent multiplication.
