A new genus of Triassic Nautilida, Gyronautilus, is proposed for material from the Lower Triassic of South Primorye, Russia. The new genus differs from previous known genera of the family Grypoceratidae by its gyroconic shell with subrectangular whorl sections and a near-marginal siphuncle. A new subfamily, Gyronautilinae, within the Grypoceratidae is also proposed.
