The Synthesis of Polymer-Bound NADP Derivatives on Charged and Uncharged Carriers and Their Coenzymic Activity

Three species of polymer-bound NADP derivatives (with uncharged, positively charged, and negatively charged carriers) were synthesized by a radical copolymerization method. They were coenzymically active with Leuconostoc mesenteroides and yeast glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenases, yeast and beef liver glutamate dehydrogenases, L. mesenteroides alcohol dehydrogenase, yeast aldehyde dehydrogenase, and Bacillus sp. glucose dehydrogenase. From the obtained values of K_m and V_<mas>, the uncharged or positively charged carrier was better than the negatively charged one as an NADP carrier and no regular difference in the coenzymic activity was seen between the NADP derivatives of uncharged or positively charged carriers.
