A velocity of small disturbances (sound velocity) propagating in a two-phase flow and its attenuation are fundamental and very important factors of high speed two-phase flows. We investigated and reported a theoretical study on small disturbances propagating in a two-phase mist flow and showed a relation between sound velocity and critical velocity of two-phase flows. In this paper, we report a research on velocity of small disturbances which propagate in one component or two component two-phase buble flows. In bubble flows, an acceleration of virtual mass of bubble is one of the essential factors in the analysis of bubble motion because of a large specific ratio of liquid and gas phases. It is also shown that a dispersion performance of sound velocity is different between one component and two component two-phase flows, and that an equilibrium sound velocity cannot exist in one component two-phase flows. A comparison of this theory with experimental data is also done with good agreement obtained.
