Theory of Angle-Resolved X-Ray Photoemission by Multiple-Scattering Cluster Method : V. Spherical Wave Effects on ARXPS Debye-Waller Factors

In this work we have applied a new approach developed by us to the analyses of thermaleffects in ARXPS spectra, where we include both spherical wave correction and anhartnonicvibration effects. We apply a partial summation techniqtre to get a plane wave part which doesnot disappear even for large kR limit, and a spherical wave part (dynamical spherical waveelect) which disappears for that linait. Numerical calculations illttstrate the importance of thespherical wave effects in high energy ARXPS spectra. In particular the spherical wave effectsplay an important role in the small-angle scatterings which predominate in ARXPS processes. Inthe forward scatterings both the static and dynamical spherical wave effects play an importantrole even in the high energy region. This extraordinary behavior is analyzed by use of theGlauber approximation. The temperattrre dependence of the dynamical spherical wave efl'ects isalso discussed.
