High- and low-energy X-ray photoemission is discussed by using Dyson orbitalswhich are useful to describe the many-body effects. Up to the first-order interac-lion between the photoelectron and the remaining system is taken into account. Also the formal discussions are given for EXAFS, XANES and resonant pho-toemission. One of the first-order interaction terms is essential for the discussionof resonant photoemission, and may be important for the discussion of XANESin this theoretical framework.
