We analyze the stability based L1p0Il linearized ideal redtuced IVIHD equations. It is shown thatabrtrpt spatial change of a vorticity gives rise to the Kelvin-Heltnholtz instability while electricctrrrent suppresses the instability. We obtain analytically the criteria f'or a trniforrn cturrent case,a trniforrn vorticity case, and a vortex-cvrrrent filannent case. For less restricted cases, we solvethe dispersion relation ntrtaaerically. Threshold of' the Kelvin-Helutaholtz instability depends onthe azirntrthal nuode nunaber m and the parallel cottaponent of wave vector Alll. We also show thatthe vorticity, which leads to the Doppler-shift, nuodifies the Alfven continuutn and the criterionof the kink instability.
