Jon heating mechanism of fast magnetosonic wave in the ton cyclotron range of fre-quency (ICRF) has been studied in the TNT-A tokamak. Jon temperaturemeasurements have been made with mass separated neutral particle analyser. Theeffects of the fundamental proton cyclotron resonance layer (ICR) and the two-ionhybrid resonance layer (HBR) on ion heating are observed. In the case of hydrogenminority ([CR and HBR in the plasma), where the ratio of hydrogen-to-deuteriumconcentration, n./ n., is 0.05, the increase in hydrogen temperature is larger than thatin deuterium, and most of RF power is absorbed by hydrogen.
