Inclusive Non-Strange Meson Production and Particle Ratios in π^-p Interactions at 6 GaV/c

Inclusive production of p' (770), co (783) and f (1270) has been studied in z-pinteractions at 6 GeV/c. The inclusive cross sections for p' and f are; 2.9-50.3mb and 0,47.50.07 mb. The semi-inclusive cross section for cta is 0.20f0.03 mb.These cross sections and ratios of p'/x, fop' and K"fp' are compared withhigher energy data. The differential cross sections for p', co and f are presentedas a function of Feynman scaling variable x and squared transverse momentumPj. The x distributions for p' and co show them to be produced primarily in theforward direction. Inclusive p', cta and f resonance production in 6 GeV/c m=pinteractions seems to have not yet reached the high energy limiting behavior.
