The uniform susceptibility and triplet excitation spectrvrrn of the Heisenberg antiferrornagnet onthe one-fifth depleted square lattice are calctrlated using the third-order pertturbation expansionmethod f'rom the viewpoint of the weakly cotrpled rneta-plaqtuette pictture. Both the strsceptibilityand triplet excutatton spectruna data for Cab,jug are sinaultaneotrsly explained. The origin ofthe relatively large spin gap in this counpound is disctrssed.
