The ground state in x.< I< I. is flue disordered state xvith tlae spin gulp. For S >1the long range Neel order v?r?uislaes at x., = 0.500. Tlaese restults exjolain qualitatively tlae exjceritnetatal results of L02CLl] ,mIVIg.O.t (.5 :: 1/2) and T{2N4I1l .rlN4g..Fn (S :: 5/2). The difl'erence ofIC loetxveen tlaese tnaterials is caused bv tl'ne clecrease in tlue u'r?agt?ittrde of' the effective spin witl-xiuaaptmrity dopinag. Tl?e spin gap is expected to be observed for L02CLl1 .llvIg.Ov in I.< x< x,at low teraaperatures,
