Accurate crystal structure of K2ZIl2(804)3 was determined at seven temperatures in the high-ternperature cubic phase. It turned out that the 804 ion has rnvrlti-site molecular arrangemerrts.We also found that mean-square atomic displacements and extin?ction parameters of difl'rac-tion intensities become anornalously large with approaching the phase transition temperature.These peculiar features, which are also observed for other langbeinite-type crystals, are explainedby assuming that nuclei of a low-ternperature phase have already been generated in the hightemperature cubic phase. We discuss that the nuclei are produced by the short Zn -O distances.
