The validity of a split-atom method (SAM), which is a technique to determine the disorderedstructure, is examined by a computer simulation based on a simple structure model. It turuasout that the distance betweeta equilibrium positions and tlae thermal vibrationts of the disorderedatom exert a significant influence on revealing the structural disordering. However, it is COIIeluded tlaat a resolving power of SAM is governed by the accuracy of the diffraction intensitymeasurement. We propose an experimental method to determine tl?e disordered structure withadjacent equilibrium positions.
