Reflectance Spectra of k-(BEDT-TTF)_2I_3:Electronic Structure of Dimeric BEDT-TTF Salts

Polarized reflectance spectra of a single crystal of r-(BEDT-TTF). I. were measuredat 295 K and 15 K over the spectral range from 500 cm -' to 25000 cm '. The infraredproperty was two-dimensional. Non-Crude mid-infrared features were observed inspite of the metallic dc conductivity. A comparison with 73- and 6-(BEDT-TTF).1.shows that this behavior has a close connection with the dimeric structure of x-salts.We analyzed the observed line shape by the curve-fitting analysis, and obtained op-tical effective masses. On the basis of the perturbation theory, an effective tight-binding band model for x-salt was derived.
