It is proved that both the global invariant with respect to helicity given byTaylor and that with respect to helical flux given by Kadomtsev are includedin a generalized fundamental global invariant composed of poloidal and toroidalmagnetic fluxes, which brings about the well-known force-free equilibria p. j=2(,Bas the minimum-magnetic-energy state. By implicating the plasma-wall interactionin the global constraint, we can obtain the minimum-energy state which satisfiesthe experimental boundary condition ofj:0 at the wall. Formulation of anenergy principle including the edge plasma effects for slightly resistive MHDplasmas is presented. Two typical numerical results of the Tokamak-like equilibriaand the reversed-field-pinch equilibria are shown.
