The neutron structure factor for Sin. glass at 22.0.50.5'C was determined inthe range of Q, 1.0-25.5 A ", by means of the time-of-flight (TOF) neutrondiffraction method using the electron linear accelerator (LINAC). An analysis ofneutron and X-ray diffraction data was carried out by using a general procedureof analysis of structure factors based on a theoretical viewpoint of liquids. Ex-cellent agreement between the calculated structure factor curves and the observedones over the whole range of Q has ascertained that the structure of Sin. glasscan be explained as a liquid-like structure which is an aggregate of rQndom1ypacked clusters consisting of five Sin. 'molecules'. Within the cluster one central'molecule' is tetrahedrally surrounded by four peripheral 'molecules' with arandom orientation about the St-0 bond direction.
