Commonly to aqueous l-l electrolytes MX, after the empirical estimationof a constant thermal diffusion coefficient 7).,=20.2xl0 'cm's 'K ' at29S.2 K, ascribable to water, a reduction rule has been found between the heatof transfer 0'(MX) and the reduced one g'(MX), as shown by 0'(MX)q'(MX) -2RT'D;/D'(MX), where 7? is the gas constant, T is kept at 29S.2 K,and 7)'(MX) is the limiting diffusion coefficient. In the relative error 0.1 '79,discarding 0'(LiCl)7)'(LiCl)/27?I"7)., in comparison with unity, we may take areference ('(LiCl)=27<I'7).,/7)'(LiCl) to the reduced tonic heats of transfer@'(ion). Using the additivity in 0'(MX) and ('(MX), together with the Nernstrelation for 7)'(MX), we have proposed rational ionic heats of transfer 07(MX)for 17 aqueous univalent ions, which agree fairly with the conventional values bySnowdon and Turner.
