A Nuclear Structure Study of ^<141>Pr and ^<143>Pm Using the (^3He,d) Reaction on ^<140>Ce and ^<142>Nd

• Deuterons from the (^3He, d) reaction on N=82 nuclei ^<140>Ce and ^<142>Nd have been measured at an incident energy of 27.30MeV with a broad-range magnetic spectrograph. Up to 3 MeV of excitation, levels of ^<141>Pr at energies 0.0, 0.15, 1.14, 1.32 and 1.64 MeV and those of ^<143>Pm at 0.0, 0.28, 0.96, 1.17 and 1.40 MeV were observed. The differential cross sections for the transitions were analyzed with distorted-wave calculations. Values of the orbital angular momentum of the transferred proton and the spectroscopic factors of the transitions were obtained.
