Interplay of the CE-Type Charge Ordering and the A-Type Spin Ordering in Half-Doped Bilayer Manganite LaSr_2Mn_2O_7

• We demonstrate that the 50% hole-doped bilayer rnanganite LaSr3lVIn307 exhibits CE-typecharge- and spin-ordered states below T' :::-210 K and below T" x 145 K, respectively. HoxvN . CONever the volutaae fraction of the CFI,-type ordering is relatively snaaall, and the systenaa is dominatedby the A-type spin order'ing. The coexistence of the two types of ordering is essential to understand the transport properties, and it cara be viewed as an eff'ective phase separation betweenthe utaetallic d(x' - y') orbital ordering and the charge-locatlized d(3x' - r') /d(3y' - r') orbitalordering.
