Fermion Number Non-Conservation Catalyzed by Magnetic Monopoles at Finite Temperature : Particles and Fields

The nucleon decay catalyzed by magnetic monopoles is investigated in the case of finite temperature. The analytic form of various temperature Green functions in the presence of a magnetic monopole is studied in detail. It is shown that the fermion condensate around a magnetic monopole would evaporate if the temperature goes up. This fact indicates that the rate of the catalysis is rendered less rapid due to the temperature effect. It is argued that this effect becomes important if the temperature is as high as 10^<12> ?K. The correlation function of fermionic bilinear operators is also derived, and its temperature dependence is discussed.
