Quantum mechanics of a relativistic non-linear string, a massive string, is studied by the use of the W. K. B. method. The excitation spectra are shown to be given with good accuracy in our approximation. A prescription for constructing S-matrix elements of interacting strings is given within a non-relativistic framework.
