We calculate the effective mass of a fermion explicitly in finite temperature quantum electrodynamics at one loop order. High temperature and low temperature approximations coincide rather well in T〜m region. We apply our results to electron and muon effective masses and find that m_<eT> is larger than m_<μT> in the region T≳0.7 m_μ. Gauge dependence of the effective mass is also discussed.
