Nonleptonic decays of hyperons are discussed in the unitary symmetrical [χθ^^-] composite model for baryons, where χ and θ are triplet spinor and scalar (or pseudo-scalar) fields respectively. The decays are assumed to occur through two different mechanisms θ^^-→θ^^-+π, χ→χ and θ^^-→θ^^-, χ→χ+π. Several relations among the decay amplitudes, including the well-known Sugawara-Lee relation for the parity violating part and a new sum rule 2P(Ξ_^-)-P(Λ_^0)=-1/(√<3>)P(Σ_0^+) for the parity conserving part, are derived. The Σ decays can be explained quite well by our model, but there remains a difficulty in explaining the asymmetry factors of Λ and Ξ decay simultaneously.
