The model of one-dimensional multicomponent gas is considered in which the particles have hard cores and the (attractive) interparticle potentials are given by -a_<ij>γe^<γR> with γ⇾+0(a_<ij> being a positive constant characteristic of the pair i, j of species). By the method of external potential, an equation for the grand partition function for this model is obtained. By finding the largest eigenvalue of this equation, the pressure and all the other thermodynamic functions for the infinite system are exactly calculated. It is shown that this model exactly obeys the same equation of state as the one obtained in the preceding paper of this series, i.e., the natural extension of van der Waals' equation of state to the multicomponent system.
