The pole-search problem of scattering amplitudes is investigated in L^2 norm. It is pointed out that the method of single-domain mapping by Stefanescu in L^2 norm has a difficulty in principle in the case of unequal errors on the real and imaginary parts of the amplitude. The same difficulty is shared also by the original work of Caprini and others in L^∞ norm. To avoid the difficulty the problem is reformulated in an annular domain introducing a discrepancy function. A numerical pole-search for a model amplitude shows that the present method is practically as powerful as or even better than the one in L^∞ norm.
