A Theory of Elementary Particles with Internal Degrees of Freedom

A field which has internal degrees of freedom is introduced in a nonlocal form, from which elementary particles may be described in a unified way. The interaction of this field is investigated in view of the requirement of convergence. Causality and relativistic invariance do not hold strictly due to the nonlocal character of this field, but a weaker condition holds in such a way that the acausal and non-invariant effects are restricted to a small region of space-time or very high energy phenomena.
