In order to obtain a finite self-mass and charge in quantum electrodynamics, some non linear interactions, the coupling constants of which depend explicitly on a cutoff parameter in the infinitesimal form, are proposed. The self-mass and charge can really become finite, but their values are not determined uniquely by requirement for convergence alone. There is no theoretical basis for giving such values definitely in the present stage. If, however, electrons and muons are treated simultaneously in the present scheme, it is possible to set up the val ues in such a way that no shift of mass and charge takes place through interactions in the theory, or that, by a self-consistent method, δm_e and δm_μ=m_μ with no shift of charge. Connection of the formalism with the usual regulator theory is discussed.
