Three-Pion-Exchange Contribution to Nucleon-Nucleon Scattering through Simple 3π-NN Diagrams

General formulae are given for the three-pion-exchange contribution in nucleon-nucleon scattering for the purpose of their fully non-static evaluation. The 3π-NN^^- amplitude is discussed in relation to their contribution to nucleon-nucleon scattering. Contributions from the 3π-NN^^- diagram with the one-pion pole to nucleon-nucleon scattering are examined in somewhat detail as the simplest example. When we take a constant approximation to the pion-pion scattering amplitude, the contribution behaves like that of exchange of an iso-vector pseudoscalar boson with the effective mass of 800~900 MeV. The pion-pion correlation effects are also investigated for the 3π-NN^^- diagrams with the one-pion pole. It is found that mean values of the three-pion effective mass are shifted towards the heavier mass side by the two-pion correlations. In particular the P-wave correlation effect is almost immaterial for the region (three-pion effective mass)^2 <~30μ^2, μ being the pion mass.
