The resonances in the sub-Coulomb ^<12>C-^<12>C total reaction cross section are analyzed by a simple potential model. There exists a 2^+ potential resonance in the elastic channel at about 6.3 MeV and at the same time other structures which strongly couple to the elastic channel and share the resonance strength. As the structures, we introduce the intrinsic excited nuclear molecular configurations, i.e., bound or quasibound states in inelastic channels. We include all the components up to the excitation of both the carbon nuclei to the first excited state (2_1^*, 4.44 MeV) but with potential depth depending on channel and use a weak absorption potential, It is shown that this model can reproduce the characteristic features of the total reaction cross section, i.e,, width, peak height and level density of the resonances and the energy dependence of the total reaction cross section at the same time. This means that ``absorption under the barrier'' is not necessary to be introduced.
