The structure functions for deep inelastic electron-proton (e-p) scattering are investigated in a quark model with the relativistic extended internal structure. Bjorken's conjecture for the structure functions, W_1 and νW_2, can be reproduced under a certain condition for the total decay widths of resonances. The ratios of σ_L/σ_T and MW_1/νW_2 are studied for the test of the current in our model. The level structure of resonances is also discussed.
