Previously developed techniques using projection operators are applied to discussing general properties of effective coupling constants related to the core polarization effects for hindered beta and gamma nuclear matrix elements. Relationships among the first order perturbation, the commutator methods, RPA and the present method are discussed from various viewpoints and the conditions for the present method to be valid are clarified. Some numerical estimates on the hindrance factors due to the core polarization effects and the remaining correction terms are obtained on the basis of the simple shell model.
