This paper describes about modal characteristics of a circular end plate with elastic edge supports and a sound field into a cylindrical cavity. The elastic supports are represented by the linear and torsional springs uniformly distributed around the plate edge, and the coupled vibration analysis is carried out under changing spring stiffness. The analysis results are expressed with distribution diagrams for a surface displacement of the plate and a sound pressure level inside the cavity corresponded to natural modes of the plate. In general, the sound fields are composed of many acoustic modes which exist near a exciting frequency. Selected factors of strongly excited acoustic modes are the nearness of the exciting frequency and the resonance frequencies, also the similarity of modal forms. In particular, the coupled vibration behavior depends on the circumferential order about the similarity of modal forms, further agreement of the circumferential orders make the coupled vibration grow up.
