<RESEARCH REPORT>RF PLUGGING AND TANDEM MIRROR EXPERIMENTS IN A CUSP-ANCHORED MIRROR DEVICE

This paper covers three experimental topics : 1) An empirical scaling relation for the RF plug potential (ponderomotive potential) is obtained and the maximum plug potential measured is 1 kV. 2) A negative potential mode produced with ICRF power only has been discovered and its equilibrium is investigated. 3) The MHD stability condition in a cusp-anchored mirror plasma has been obtained experimentally.
