Polarization multiplex recordings using photocrosslinkable polymer liquid crystal films were demonstrated and characterized on the basis of Jones calculus. Multiple linearly polarized 405 nm laser diode exposures while changing the polarization results in multiplex optical data storage, and one recorded spot can include three types of information. The recorded information can be decoded by detecting the polarization states of the transmitted reading beam.
