Volume Holographic Filter at 1.55 μm in Near-Stoichiometric Lithium Niobate

A volume holographic filter operating in the reflection geometry at communication wavelengths was demonstrated in oxidized Fe-doped near-stoichiometric lithium niobate crystals, and the designed filter showed a narrow bandwidth of less than 0.2 nm and an express loss of more than 20 dB. An array of volume holographic filters was constructed in the same crystal with central wavelength separation of 0.5 nm.
