We proposed a novel method to minimize the cut-off effect for the enhancement of the throughput of a near-field aperture. From self-focusing (SF) due to the nonlinear optical Kerr effect in as-evaporated As2S3 glass, we found that the throughput on the near-field aperture increases over 100 times compared to that in the case of conventional tapered fiber tips. Qualitative analysis for the experimental results is also presented.
