The purpose of the present study is to apply a new technique, magnetic anisotropy measurement, to evaluate the fiber orientation in short-ferromagnetic-fiber-reinforced composites. Short-Fe-fiber-reinforced composites with several different distribution patterns of fiber orientation were fabricated, and the magnetic torque curves of these composites were measured. Theoretical magnetic torque curves of the composites were also calculated for the corresponding distribution patterns of fiber orientation. It was found that the evaluation of the fiber orientation in composites could be achieved from magnetic torque measurements.
