A statistical observation was done on 180 patients with Meniere's disease who visited our clinic from 1977 to 1986.<BR>The number of patie n ts with Meniere's disease was 0.28% of the total number of ENT out-patients and 8.0% of the number of patients with vertigo. The number of women was one and a half times as many as that of men. The percentage of patients whose ages were over 60 increased. One third of the patients visited our clinic within one month from the first vertigo attack. The incidence of unilateral and bilateral labyrinthine lesions was 152and 10, respectively. Among the vestibular function tests, abnormal findings were detected frequently by the righting reflex test (23%), the presence of positinonal nystagmus (33%)and caloric test(28%)
