(<I>N</I>-Alkoxycarbonyl-1,2-dihydropyridine)tricarbonylirons are conveniently prepared in good yields by photo-irradiation in the presence of excess pentacarbonyliron without any solvent. <SUP>13</SUP>C NMR spectra of the complexes are also described.
