Two charge-transfer complexes of α,α,α′,α′-tetracyanodiphenoquinodimethane (TCNDQ), <I>i.e.</I>, <I>N</I>-methylphenazinium (NMP)–TCNDQ, and <I>N</I>-methylquinolinium (NMQ)–TCNDQ, were synthesized. The electrical resistivities with pressed pellet samples were 7.1×10<SUP>8</SUP> Ω cm for NMP<SUP>+</SUP>TCNDQ<SUP>−</SUP> and 6.9×10<SUP>7</SUP> Ω cm for NMQ<SUP>+</SUP>TCNDQ<SUP>−</SUP>; they are thus much less conductive than the corresponding TCNQ, complexes.
