Migrainous Vertigo Treated Successfully with Nitroglycerin in Three Cases

• Three patients with migrainous vertigo were treated successfully with nitroglycerin. All of them had classic migraine, and the veritgo pattern was of the rotatory type in two and of the scotodinic type in one. In all cases, vertigo was a delayed complication of migraine. Sublingual administration of half or one tablet of nitroglycerin (0.15-0.30mg) at the onset of vertigo was successful in suppressing or aborting the vertiginous attacks in all three cases, and also effective in suppressing the migraine attacks.
